Homemade salmon

the color purpleMy first introduction to salmon was in middle school. It took me time to develop a true love for it, but by my high school years, it became one of my favorite meals to eat. My mom would buy salmon from Whole Foods and cook it. The salmon is already delicious by itself, but when you add Chef Paul Prudhomme Salmon Magic Seasoning to it, it enhances the salmon even more.

Salmon is rich in a lot of nutrients, inlcuding potassium, protein and Vitamin B. Homemade salmon has become one of my common meals to eat since it is healthy. During college, I have tried my best to limit the amount of fried food and desserts I eat. Along with turkey and baked chicken, salmon is one of my non-fried options.

the color blueSoul Fish Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Memphis.The service is quick and the seafood is some of the best you can find in the city. My go to dinner plate used to be fried catfish with either fries or macaroni and cheese. Over the past year, my mom, dad and sister began getting blackened salmon from Soul Fish. While I loved salmon, I was not sure about eating it blackened;  I had never eaten meat blackened before.

I finally decided to try blackened salmon, and to my surprising, I liked it more than I expected. I then discovered that when a meat is blackened, a special spice blend is put on it. The meat then develops a dark color once it is cooked. Ever since I first tried it, blackened salmon is my go to plate at Soul Fish Cafe. If I am not able to make salmon at home, I get salmon from Soul Fish. It is my favorite restaurant salmon that I have had so far.
